kate moss billboard London, Mar 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) At least four people were left needing medical care after a giant billboard, featuring Kate Moss, collapsed on them. The 15-foot wooden structure standing on the Oxford Street suddenly fell on a group of shoppers, taking them by surprise.

Firefighters and the police briefly closed up the street as they tried to remove the structure. The four injured shoppers were taken to the hospital in an ambulance as officials fear that one of them might have suffered a back injury.

Pictures of the incident have been posted on the Internet. A spokesperson of the London Fire Brigade told reporters that, “Three fire engines, four fire rescue units and around 40 firefighters are at the scene. The police and London Ambulance Service are also at the scene. It is not thought at this stage that anyone is trapped but around four people are thought to have been injured.”

Police say the injured shoppers include a 23-year-old woman, a man believed to be in his early sixties and a woman who is in her middle forties.

The billboard was an ad for Mango. The company has not made any official comment on the issue.

Officials say they have started investigation into the incident. This is a rare case and may affect the laws regarding how billboards should be erected in the city centers.
