- London, Oct 22 (ANI): Joseph Wiseman, the Canadian-born actor best known for his evil portrayal of the James Bond villain, Dr. No, has died aged 91.
According to his daughter Martha Graham Wiseman, the actor’s death at his Manhattan home on Monday followed a decline in the actor’s health, reports The Daily Express.
Wiseman appeared in a slew of Broadway productions, television shows, and movies such as Viva Zapata! with Marlon Brando and The Unforgiven with Burt Lancaster.
But he’s best known for locking horns with Sean Connery’s agent 007 in 1962’s Dr. No. Wiseman’s character, a mad scientist with an arsenal of fiendishly wry quips.
“Stage acting was what he wanted to be remembered for,” Wiseman’s daughter said. (ANI)
