to top the box office chart.
Though No Strings Attached earned barely $20.3 million, it still defeated the superhero film that earned an estimated $18.1 million. No Strings Attached is a romantic caper and basically caters to the female audience who prefer romance over other genres at this time of the year when Valentine’s Day is round the corner. Hence, it’s no surprise that it has grabbed the no. 1 throne from The Green Hornet.
Natalie Portman has another film at the top 10 in the form of Black Swan that has earned her the Best Actress in a Drama award at the Golden Globes. With $6.2 million, Black Swan sits at the 6th spot.
Besides No Strings Attached and The Green Hornet other films that make it to the top 5 include The Dilemma with $9.7 million, The King’s Speech with $9.2 million and True Grit with $8 million.
Black Swan ($6.2 million), The Fighter ($4.5 million), Little Fockers ($4.4 million), Yogi Bear ($4.1 million) and Tron Legacy ($3.7 million) round off the top ten.
