‘Arekti Premer Golpo’ Refused Nandan Screening

only because of the fact that it deals with homosexuality!
The Nandan authorities have reported that it was Chief Minister of West Bengal Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee who directed the theater not to screen ‘Arekti Premer Golpo’. In spite of the fact that the Kaushik Ganguly production has received the clearance certificate from the censor board in India, Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee find the subject of homosexuality unsuitable for the Kolkata audience! Somebody should also remind the CM that we live in the 21st century where a same sex relationship has been declared legal even in a developing country like India.
Arekti Premer Golpo is the debut of Rituparno Ghosh as actor. His performance has received accolades ever since the film hit theaters last Friday. In a statement to the media, Kaushik Ganguly said that he was extremely disappointed with the decision of Nandan, stressing on the fact that his film could do well even if Nandan turns it down. Well, Kaushik Ganguly and his Arekti Premer Golpo team have just emerged victorious..
