Ziami.com Custom-made clothing online
August 28th, 2008 - 5:04 pm ICT by Bupha RavirotBoris Kodjoe along with his brother initiated a Custom-made clothing store over internet.
Hit upon a very good idea, an actor Boris Kodjoe and his brother, Patrick, have created a website called Ziami.com, as an online custom tailoring clothing store where customers can order custom-made, hand-stitched shirts for as little as $29.95, suits for $99.95, and 100% silk ties for $19.95.
Ziami follows the mission statement “To make the luxury of high quality, hand-crafted, custom-made clothing affordable for everyone.”.
Boris Kodjoe, Austrian-born actor, the source of this idea has been a model for Gap and Ralph Lauren. He’s also done several movies and series. Recently he has made an appearance on syndicated talk show “Wendy Williams”. During the interview, he was wearing a Ziami suit and mentioned the website.
People might wonder how products can be at such low prices, Ziami has provided a very simple answer that is “everything is done online”
Firstly, there are no big advertising campaigns like other brand named garment companies use, in order not to rise the prices up. Secondly, processes of orders and contacts are done online or in person through their Design Consultants. Thirdly shipping to their customer directly within 3-5 weeks which cut unnecessary shipping and retail distributing costs. And the clothing is all made in China.
At Ziami.com, customers can receive a Starter Kit for $99.95 if they sign up. The Kit includes; a sample shirt, a fabric swatch book, measuring guide and tape, marketing strategy guidelines and order forms.
By signing up, customers can also become a design consultant and can have their own website to sell online through the company for an additional $9.95 per month. As a Design Consultant, you earn commission, referral payments and various other bonuses.
It can be said that Ziami is the “first company to apply the concept of mass customization to fashion.”
