Yet Another Toyota Recall To Take Place

July 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Japan based car giant Toyota motors has still not managed to get over the recall fiasco which grabbed it early this year. After recalling several millions of its cars in various countries of the world the troubled carmaker has decided to issue yet another recall. However, this recall is meant for its Lexus brand of luxury cars. Almost 250000 Lexus cars will be affected by this recall. Toyota’s image as a carmaker is sure to be tarnished with this move. The cars are being recalled as a part in their engines is susceptible to cracking which may cause the engines to stall.
The formal notice for this recall will come on Monday as the company has said in a statement. The company is finding it increasingly hard to cope up with the recall fiasco and it has affected its market share and sales. It has recalled 9 million cars worldwide since the beginning of this year. The US federal government made it pay a fine of $16.4million. The engine defect has been found in two variants of Lexus engines, both are manufactured n Japan. Toyota will take care to inform the owners about the recall. However, the company has not said which supplier provided the faulty parts. As many as 200 compliant have reached the company after which it has decided to issue the recall.
So far no accident has taken place from the Lexus models with the defect but Toyota clearly does not want to take any chance. A total of 7 Lexus models will be recalled as they have the engine with the faulty part. It remains to be seen whether it affects Toyota’s stock prices or not.
