The new launched website 45-65.com, created by Matt Parks, one among the students and fans ofThe University of Texas Longhorns Football team , who have been planning an extensive and high-profile campaign to remind BCS voters about the merits of the Longhorns’ 45-35 victory over Oklahoma on October,11.
The group that has been collecting funds said their intention is to create and raise awareness about Texas’ head-to-head victory over Oklahoma.
The funds spent on a war chest of more than $4,500, part of which was spent on printing and distribution of 20,000 signs for fans to wave during Thursday’s Texas-Texas A&M game in Austin. Other funds were used to hire a pilot to fly over Stillwater, Okla. with a pro-Longhorns banner during Saturday’s live telecast of the ESPN College GameDay program.
‘The Daily Texan’ student newspapers printed 25,000 editions Wednesday with a full-page, orange-and-white insert bearing the now-famous score of the Oklahoma game.
Parks said his Web site, 45-35.com, recently has registered more than 9,000 unique views.
Austin Talbert, a member of the group has created a Facebook page and stumbled into folklore, with title “Texas did beat OU 45-35″. Before he went to bed, Talbert checked , there were 30 members and it increased to 300 in the next morning, and again Wednesday morning there were more than 16,400 members. It grows by the minute.
