October 20th, 2011 - 5:30 am ICT by IANSParma (Italy), Oct 20 (IANS) The five-day World Dairy Summit 2011, or Summilk, concluded here Wednesday, Xinhua reported.
Some 1,400 experts attended the annual event. This year’s theme was “Sustainable food security”.
According to the International Dairy Federation (IDF), organisers of Summilk, the global dairy products are expected to see a significant growth in the near future.
“They (dairy products) need to meet increasing demands of the highest standards in food safety,” said IDF president Richard Doyle.
Modern technologies for sustainable products, animal feeding, and prudent use of antimicrobial agents were some of the novel strategies discussed by the industry experts at the World Dairy Leaders’ Forum Sunday.
