Chennai, Nov 21 (IANS) The scam in allocation of 2G spectrum is 1,000 times bigger than the infamous Bofors gun scandal and how long is everyone going to pretend that it has not taken place, AIADMK General Secretary J. Jayalalithaa asked here Saturday.
Releasing copies of letters written by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), union Communications Minister A. Raja and file notings of union Law Ministry on the spectrum allocation policy to the media, she said: “These documents clearly show that Raja had acted in a dubious manner in the allocation of 2-G spectrum. No one has refuted any of these facts. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, for reasons best known to him, is maintaining a monumental silence.”
Charging Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi with making derogatory personal insinuations against her using the anonymity of various pen names, Jayalalithaa alleged that the nation has been cheated of Rs.100,000 crore because of the ‘first come first served’ spectrum allocation policy instead of auctioning the spectrum.
