Wal-Mart & Target engage in a price war over toys
November 9th, 2010 - 1:09 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattNew York, Nov 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Wal-Mart wants to ensure that it is not left out of the battle for a greater share in the amount parents will spend this holiday season. Wal-Mart has slashed the prices of its toys in a bid to get in the good books of parents who might consider buying toys for their children in the upcoming holiday season.
Experts believe that toys are one of the few things that consumers will patronize no matter the condition of the economy. As a result, retail shops put a priority on winning the minds of parents when the holiday is approaching. Recent trends have made that more true that ever. It has been found that parents will like to head to the shop with the best price to buy toys for their children.
The American economy has improved somewhat this year and Wal-Mart is ensuring that it enjoys the best share of the toy market. The company’s newly announced prices beat that of Target which is known to offer the best price. The war seem between the tow shops because both shops have indicated that they will be ready to review their prices even further down if a shopper presents a printed ad to them that offer any toy they are offering at a lower price.
