Volkswagen unveils Polo model, launch this year
January 5th, 2010 - 3:47 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 5 (IANS) German car maker Volkswagen, best known for Beetle, showcased two versions of its Polo cars here Tuesday, saying that a hatchback model would be launched in March and a sedan version later this year.
Unveiling the Polo and Race Polo models at Auto Expo here, board member Jochem Heizmann told reporters that Polo would play a key role in Volkswagen’s marketing strategy.
“It is an outstanding model,” Heizmann said while unveiling the two new models.
Polo will be powered by a 1.2-litre engine, and will come in both petrol and diesel options. The Race Polo will be powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine.
Added Neeraj Garg, another board member: “Polo is designed to offer the very best in comfort and drive.”
He also said his company had expanded its network in India and now had 40 dealers.
