Vinod Dasari to be in Ashok Leyland’s driver seat
January 22nd, 2011 - 10:40 pm ICT by IANSChennai, Jan 22 (IANS) Commercial vehicles manufacturer Ashok Leyland Saturday announced top level changes, elevating Vinod K. Dasari as managing director (designate) with immediate effect. He would assume full responsibility from April 1.The incumbent, R. Seshasayee has been appointed as the company’s executive vice chairman effective April 1. He is also the executive vice chairman of the holding company Hinduja Automotive Ltd.
According to company chairman Dheeraj G. Hinduja, the transition is a planned one.
“Vinod was being groomed for this move over the last few years and he was progressively being entrusted with the responsibilities relating to marketing, manufacturing, strategic sourcing and product development,” Hinduja said in a statement.
Dasari joined Ashok Leyland in 2005, prior to which he was joint managing director of Cummins India Limited.
