Dec.04 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Verizon Communications became the latest operator that allows its subscribers to buy products through Fios TV by means of “HSN Shop By Remote” widget. Earlier Comcast also launched HSN Shop by Remote offer for its 8 million customers. HSN offers interactive-shopping offers with Oceanic Division of Time Warner Cable and Dish Network as well. The subscribers of Fios Tv network can now order recent items along with the final 15 items showed on the network through the HSN widget.
Apart from that the TV customers of Telco can avail a special deal from Verizon Fios. Comcasts’s offer, on the other hand only allows the subscribers to buy the recently aired product. In regions like New York, New Jersey, Texas and Florida Verizon Communication will start offering the HSN Shop By Remote widget by Thursday. The other areas covered by Fios TV network will be able to access and use the service from the 7th of this month. As per the data of September 2009, Verizon communication has more than 2.7 million customers who use Fios TV.
However, to access the new service, Verizon Communication customers need to possess an HSN online account. The HSN spokespersons said that Verizon widget platform is a robust one and Fios frees the users from technology hassles that can happen with conventional cable networks. Comcast, as it has been known, is making use of a new specification and TWC Oceanic relies on the ITV platform of ActiveVideo Network. The users would not be able to purchase personalized products with the new HSN Shop by Remote applications though.
