Uttar Pradesh expands industry scheme
December 8th, 2011 - 7:28 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, Dec 8 (IANS) The Uttar Pradesh government has extended to 27 more districts its initiative of a unique online platform for entrepreneurs, an official said.
‘Nivesh Mitra’ was introduced in July 2009 as a simple, entrepreneur centric web application in 18 of the state’s 75 districts.
The application enables prospective entrepreneurs to get online clearances and no-objection certificates, thus cutting down red-tape.
“As an ongoing process, efforts were made to incorporate various new functionalities to make the application more user friendly. These new functionalities included online payment facility,” an official spokesman said.
Among the 27 new districts added are Allahabad, Azamgarh, Bareilly, Bulandshahr, Ferozabad, Gorakhpur, Meerut, Pilibhit, Raebareli and Varanasi. ‘Nivesh Mitra’ is now functional in 45 districts of the state.
