Washington DC, May 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) USAA Insurance Co. has been sued for the way that they handle car crash claims. The suit claims that USAA uses fraudulent means to deny beneficiaries of their claims.

The suit was filed by an Oregon attorney at the U.S. District Court in Portland, Ore. The suit is praying the court to order the insurance company to pay unspecified amount in damages for their practices. USAA solely insures personnel of the US military and their family.

In the suit, the plaintiff alleges that USAA uses unfair tactics to deny claims by some of their clients. The suit further explained that USAA told those clients that they cannot have their claims settled because their injuries didn’t require medical treatment.

Part of the suit stated that, “fraudulent file reviews in order to deprive plaintiffs, and those like them, of their medical treatment and thereby save USAA money at the expense of servicemen and women, and their families.”

The suit was filed on behalf of Margaret Soukup who had a car crash in 2009. The accident happened after a vehicle rear crashed her car which in turn crashed to the car in front of it. The suit say USAA refused to pay up the medical bills stating that the treatment was not necessary.
