US national of Afghan descent arrested while entering in Mohmand Agency
October 14th, 2008 - 2:36 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Peshawar , Oct 14 (ANI): Police in Mohamand Agency in FATA claimed to have arrested an American national, said to be of Afghan descent, while trying to illegally enter the Agency. He was reportedly carrying a laptop, maps and other documents.
We have arrested an American national at Yakaghund checkpost with a computer, some maps and other documents while crossing into Mohmand, the Daily Times quoted sources as saying.
The arrested persons name was not disclosed, but the sources said his facial features suggested he was of Afghan descent, added the paper.
Documents recovered from his possession establish his American nationality, but he looks like an Afghan Hazara. He has been moved to Peshawar for interrogation by a Joint Investigation Team, the officials said. (ANI)
