UOR Hotel to set up Indian restaurants in US and Mideast
December 23rd, 2011 - 5:35 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 23 (IANS) Under One Roof (UOR) Hotel Consultants Friday said it is setting up more than three restaurants in the Middle East and another two in the United States, keeping in view the rising popularity of Indian cuisine.
“While the domestic market seems to be opening up further, the international market is also opening up to the Indian experience and wants professional input to understand and update their interpretation and execution of the cuisine,” said Sonia Mohindra, director, UOR Hotel Consultants.
She said in the Middle East UOR was setting up and doing more than 3 projects, “which are all Indian cuisine-centric though each of them is varying from the other at different price points”.
The restaurants in the Middle East would open their doors to the guests by March. The US ones would take longer since they are part of a larger plan of reconstruction of the Holiday Inn located near Chicago.
UOR is also set for some mega-launches within India next year.
“With the hospitality sector contributing about 9 percent to India’s gross domestic product, and many international hotel chains, including Las Vegas-based MGM Hospitality, Le Bua and UK’s Whitbread and Best Western entering the market, hospitality is not likely to witness any recession despite a global economic downturn being caused by the Euro-Zone economic weakness,” added Mohindra.
UOR Hotel Consultants provides turnkey solutions to any restaurant and hotel venture, from concept to commissioning. On an average, it consults and advises for investments of around Rs.300-500 crore a year.
