Union Budget 2009-10: Shaping Up To Be A Pro-People One

Amidst all speculations regarding economy slowdown, Finance Minister, Pranab Mukherjee presented the Union Budget today. As far as the recent developments are concerned, this years budget is turning out to be a ‘pro-people’ one.
The veteran politician stated “mandate for continuity and stability”, during the commencement of his speech. Mukherjee while emphasizing on economic growth stated, “India needs to sustain growth 9% p.a. at the earliest.” The Minister also declared that this years budget will create near about 12 million jobs, thus bringing a relief to the common people who are affected by recession. Mukherjee, laying his stress on the development of the urban areas declared that Rs.3937 crore will be allocated for the urban poor. The farm loan waiver period has been increased by six months. LNG infrastructure in the country will be expanded.
“Aam admi is the main focus of all our programs and schemes,” says Mukherjee. He declared that the Government is committed to provide Rs.100 a day as wage under NREGA. National Mission for female literacy with special emphasis on minorities, schedules castes and scheduled tribes is likely to be launched thus shaping up the Union Budget in the favor of “Aam admi”.
