Underwater Hotel In Dubai In Financial Trouble

Joachim Hauser’s brainchild, the underwater hotel in Dubai named The Hydropolis is deep down in trouble. It is ironic that being the world’s first luxury underwater hotel it doesn’t have the luxury of financial stability. The hotel which is under construction since 2005 will have to wait some more before it is completed.
It is unique for its lavish decor and design. The world’s most extravagant underwater hotel would have been completed by 2006 had it not faced financial crisis. It is not unnatural for such an endeavor which includes an area of 260 hectares and plans to include a land station for welcoming guests,a connecting tunnel for transporting people by train and 220 suites within the complex to face financial crisis.
Even in such troubled times as when the progress had to be delayed due to technical difficulties like design issues and the uncontrollable sea, Hauser didn’t lose hope. According to Joachim Hauser, “Hydropolis is not a project; it’s a passion”. He plans to match up to London’s Hyde Park in terms of size. His costly dream of constructing this 300 million hotel is accompanied by the pride he has about his won community. Constructing a hotel under 20-30 metres under the sea can only be well received by “a very open-minded and international community” like Dubai.
Dubai being one of those few exotic locales of the world which has place for such architecture is a favorite among many like Hauser. His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai has been instrumental in helping Hauser materialize his dream project. This was his last free beach property which he has shared for the world to experience a lavish life, underwaters.

Hi Madhuri,
I am a journalist and I am writing a story about Hydropolis, could you tell me how I could get in touch with Joachim Hauser and the people of Hydropolis?

Hi SJ,
you can go here and try.

But the Hydropolis in Dubai is nothing but a Fata Morgana!

Yes, it’s not the time now. And in about 30 years, when Abu Dhabi is maybe a ghost town where the werewolves say goodnight, it will be too late.
Seriously, I would wonder if the world would go crazy and let such a project come to life. Besides security issues of all kinds, how could it ever bring back the investment ?

Well, I think it would bring back the investment. - I can imagine that many people are crazy enough to try something like that out… and honestly, I’d be one of them!
And I bet the prices would be really high. Exclusive guests mean lots of money, don’t they?
I so hope so, that it isn’t just a Fata Morgana. I’d really like to see something like that get buildt.
