UAE, US seek closer ties
March 23rd, 2011 - 12:55 am ICT by IANSAbu Dhabi, March 22 (IANS/WAM) The United Arab Emirates and the US Tuesday held discussions on further strengthening their ties and promoting cooperation in the trade, energy and agriculture sectors.
Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, director general of UAE’s foreign trade ministry and Robert Hormats, US undersecretary for economic, energy and agricultural affairs at the state department held talks here to promote cooperation in the trade, energy and agriculture sectors.
During the meet, Al-Saleh said that the UAE-US trade relations were robust in all sectors.
The US is UAE’s third largest trading partner, he added.
Hormats stressed on US businesses’ interest in tapping the UAE’s economic growth and investment opportunities.
