UAE, Panama sign ‘open sky’ agreement
November 17th, 2010 - 11:23 pm ICT by IANSDubai, Nov 17 (IANS/WAM) The UAE and Panama have signed an “open sky” agreement in the Panama City, allowing both sides to operate unlimited flights between the two countries.
The agreement was signed Tuesday by Saif Mohammed Al-Suwaidi, director general of UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and Rafael Barcenas, director general of Panama’s Civil Aviation Authority, in the presence of officials from both countries.
Emirates, Etihad, RAK Airways, Air Arabia and FlyDubai represented the UAE delegation.
Compania Panamena de Aviacion (Copa Airlines), Parsa (Air Panama), Aerolineas Pacifico Atlantico (Aeroperlas) and DHL Aeroexpreso represented the Panama side.
The deal allows unrestricted frequencies, capacity and types of aircraft, whether owned, interchanged or leased, to be operated by the designated airlines in any type of service (passenger or cargo) between Panama and the UAE.
The designated airlines of both parties will also be able to freely enter into cooperative marketing arrangements, including code share arrangements with any other airlines.
