UAE holds International Pearl Exhibition
November 11th, 2010 - 11:58 pm ICT by IANSAbu Dhabi, Nov 11 (IANS) Traders from across the globe will showcase their designs at the five-day International Pearl Exhibition underway in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The fourth edition of the exhibition was inaugurated Wednesday by Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairperson of the General Women’s Union (GWA) and Supreme Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), Princess Michael of Kent at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC).
Princess Michael acknowledged the contribution of Abu Dhabi’s Delma island, where pearls traders from the Gulf used to visit and trade twice a year.
The main event, the International Pearl Conference 2010, to be held under the theme “Pearl, Gem and Jewelry” at Emirates Palace Hotel Nov 14, will host the experts from various countries including India, China, Britain and Russia.
