UAE, Britain seek to strengthen economic relations
June 4th, 2011 - 11:53 pm ICT by IANSDubai, June 4 (IANS/WAM) The United Arab Emirates and Britain have discussed ways to enhance economic relations.
The UAE’s Economy Minister, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Saturday met British Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Lord David Howell when both the leaders discussed ways to enhance economic relations.
They also talked about the success achieved in implementation of the points agreed during last meeting of the two countries’ joint economic committee.
Both sides also reviewed their planned increase in trade exchange between the UAE and the Britain from its current volume to 12 billion pounds (over $19.6 billion) by 2015.
Al Mansouri stressed the need for further interaction to implement all recommended measures to bolster economic cooperation.
Lord Howell expressed his country’s readiness to cooperate with the UAE in its economic diversification drive.
