Two more arrested in fake pilots’ license scam
May 5th, 2011 - 5:42 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 5 (IANS) Two more pilots working with private airlines were arrested Thursday for obtaining their commercial pilot’s licence based on forged marksheets, police said.
“Captain Param Prakash and Captain Anirban Sannigrahi were arrested today (Thursday) for obtaining commercial pilot licences using forged marksheets,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashok Chand said.
The fake pilot scam was first unearthed March 7 by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The pilots had allegedly procured Airlines Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) using fake documents.
“Seventeen people, including three DGCA officials, have been arrested from Delhi and Jaipur since then,” Chand said.
