Nov 5, (THAINDIAN NEWS) A recent estimate has shown that in this year Trucks have outsold cars and it indicates that the economy is actually improving. The sale of the SUVs and pickup trucks soared higher this year. In fact the so called light duty trucks made up more than 50 percent of all new car sales in the USA in the last month. The passenger cars scored 46 percent as per the data published by J.D. Power and Associates. A similar trend was observed in 2005. The small business owners and large families are the ones who buy pickup trucks and SUVs. The fact that gasoline price is still within the reach may have caused this upsurge in truck sales. It has been observed earlier that whenever gasoline prices go up it directly affects the sales of cars including trucks.
The fact that some car companies are promoting trucks and SUVs with attractive financing schemes has also helped in the rise in truck sales. Ford reported a 24 percent rise in truck sales in October. The F Series truck of Ford is selling well. There could be another reason why SUVs and trucks are selling better than cars. There are some buyers who need a vehicle that offers better durability and great value for money. In these areas a SUV or light truck easily outshines a car. The SUVs offer better mileage and last longer in general.
The economists are hopeful that the high sales of trucks is actually a good sign and people are willing to spend again. However, many other factors need to be taken into account before saying it officially.
