Combined with strong reporting tools, consolidation provides complete spend visibility required to effectively manage a travel program. Organizations can also take advantage of powerful discounts and perks negotiated by their travel management partner.
Gaurav Sundaram, Country Director, Egencia India, said “Indian corporate travel buyers have the greatest advantage in adopting global best practice immediately and leapfrogging the learning curve.”
“They can immediately impact their costs and address leakage in spend by implementing Egencia recommendations. They key approach would rest on creating a strong central travel policy , ensuring compliance and managing exceptions,” he added.
In many cases, the study concludes that travel management firms like Egencia offer additional discounts of 10-25 percent off rack or published rates and amenities.
In 2011, 53 percent of travel managers are negotiating additional amenities or better terms into their hotel contracts; 72 percent negotiated free breakfast; 66 percent negotiated free Wi-Fi and 41 percent negotiated free parking.
The global study of nearly 350 travel managers found 95 per cent of respondents view traveler compliance as important to the success of their travel program, with a failure to comply ultimately affecting the company’s bottom line. (ANI)
