Sheikh Hasina Agartala, Jan 12 (IANS) Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal said Thursday connectivity between India, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal can promote cross-border trade.

“New Delhi and Dhaka’s joint decision to facilitate transit facilities to the people of the northeast region via Bangladesh can allow easier access to these far-flung states,” Sibal said at the Tripura Central University.

“The South Asian University (SAU) has commenced its academic activities. Young men and women from six of the eight South Asian nations are already living and studying at SAU in Delhi,” he said.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Vice President Hamid Ansari also spoke in the convocation.
