New Delhi, April 20 (IANS) Traffic snarls are expected in the New Delhi and central Delhi areas Wednesday due to the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) rally against price rise. The traffic police has asked the public commuting in these areas to use the metro to avoid traffic jams.
The BJP rally at the Ramlila Ground is expected to start 8 a.m. and by 2 p.m. some participants will take out a procession towards Jantar Mantar. This may cause traffic congestion in the two areas.

“Traffic police has made elaborate arrangements to minimise the inconvenience to the general public by tying up with Delhi Metro to increase frequency of trains for rally affected areas,” Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Satyendra Garg said.

“Public commuting in bus and motorists are advised to avoid road journeys and instead they could use metro trains coming to New Delhi and central Delhi,” he added.

Buses plying in and around the rally area would be diverted. The roads affected would be Ring Road, Mathura Road, C-Hexagon, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, J.L.N. Marg, Asaf Ali Road, Netaji Subhash Marg, Ranjit Singh Marg, Tolstoy Marg, Sikandara Road, Barakhamba Road, Parliament Street and Ashoka Road.
