Sep 29 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Two retail giants in the United States are employing new people even in these recession times and this seems to be positive news to the millions of unemployed.
Toy retail giant Toys R Us stated its intentions to employ about 45,000 more workers throughout the United States for the festive season ahead of the year. The company stated that the extra job openings became available as a result of the company’s expansion project, which has added 600 Toys R Us Express stores in major shopping malls and shopping centers.
The toy retailer already has 587 shops across the US in many places such as Wilkes-Barre and Scranton where many more employees will be hired in the coming days. The workers being employed will be just temporary workers that will cater for the extra business during the holiday season.
The company’s representative, Linda DeNotaris stated that each store’s demand will determine the number of temporary employees it will hire.
Another retail giant, Home Depot has also announced additional openings in the coming days. Even in recession times, people are repairing their houses and also taking up a lot of maintenance projects, hence Home Depot needs some more additional workforce.
