1toyota_concept_f34_500Feb 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It is evident that Japanese car giant Toyota motor Corporation is reeling under a massive recall affecting millions of its cars in recent times. However, it is in no mood to let its rivals zoom ahead using this opportunity. The company wants to woo back the anxious customers and that explains why it has decided to roll out incentives. The auto industry insiders say that Toyota is planning to expand warranty period offered on their models. It also has plans to offer benefits to the dealers in handling repairs that do not come under this recall.

Toyota said recently that it may lose close to 80,000 sales owing to this massive recall. However, the plans of the company may be affected to an extent by the Congressional hearings which will be held later in this month. Ever since the company decided to recall over 5 million Lexus and Toyota models, its image of being the world leader in car safety and reliability has taken a beating. Its popular models like the Prius Hybrid and Corolla have been recalled. As of now, the company is working on a priority basis to fix the problems in the recalled cars. It has reportedly solved the sticky accelerator problem in half a million cars.

The auto industry experts think that Toyota may roll out the incentives sometime in March this year. The recall has affected its sales in the first quarter of 2010. Akio Toyoda, the president of the troubled Japanese carmaker has sought apology from the customers already and he has also said that Toyota will do everything to win back the trust of its customers.
