Toyota launches third generation Prius with new features
January 7th, 2012 - 6:06 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Jan 7 (IANS) Toyota Saturday launched its third generation hybrid hatchback Pruis priced between Rs.27.38 lakh and Rs.29.40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) at the Auto Expo here.
“We aim to increase awareness on hybrids, the eco-friendly vehicle of tomorrow. We hope to see more Prius customers and contribute to the growth of the Indian hybrid market and contribute to a greener tomorrow,” said Shekar Vishwanathan, deputy managing director, commercial, Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM).
According to the company, the hybrid vehicle comes with a solar powered ventilation system that allows exchange of air in the cabin while being parked.
The remote air conditioning system, another additional feature in the car, enables customers to control the internal temperature from outside.
The Japanese automaker also launched a customized seat for people with special mobility needs — Easy Seat, priced at Rs.29,979. It comes with a one-year warranty.
The Easy Seat has a mechanism that enables the seat to swivel and slide. It is recommended for people with medical conditions like arthritis and other knee-related ailments.
“We are glad to introduce the Easy Seat, which will enable us to serve our customers better and cater to their special needs,” said Sandeep Singh, deputy managing director, marketing, TKM.
