2010_toyota_priusFeb 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It is quite obvious that Toyota cannot afford to tarnish its reputation in the international market. The Japanese giant is still reeling under the massive recall issued by it owing to a gas pedal problem found in eight of its popular models. The company has recalled near about 2.3 million vehicles but that does not mean it is willing to take rivals like Ford and GM take an upper hand owing to this incident. As per the latest news, Toyota will be sending repair kits for replacing the faulty gas pedals in the affected cars in this month. The repair needs to be done fast since Toyota has put a temporary stop on the manufacturing of the affected models.

The Toyota cars are known and sought after for their unmatched sturdiness and safety. The company wants to maintain the image and the sooner it can fix the glitch and resume the production, it stands the chance of retaining the number one position in the US market. Though Brian Lyons, a spokesperson for the company has declined to make specific comments, it has been revealed that Toyota is about to make an announcement soon. Camry and Corolla are among the most popular models of Toyota that have been recalled due to the gas pedal problem.

Akio Toyoda, the president of the Toyota Motor Corporation has already expressed their apology to the existing customers of the company. He said that the company considers the safety of the customers to be the most important thing and the recall had become inevitable.
