2010_toyota_prius New York, Feb 2 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Toyota announced on Monday that they have finally found a fix to their irksome gas-pedal problem. The Toyota engineers have developed a solution that reinforces the pedal assembly in such a way, that the excess friction is eliminated. This excess friction had caused the pedals to stick in some rare cases. The Toyota Motor Corporation said that they have received the necessary clearance from the US federal regulators, for the fix that they have made to solve the sticky accelerator pedals. This problem led them to recall over 2.3 million vehicles.

The repair pedals are being shipped to the dealers so that they can use them. And the dealers are also being trained for the new repair kits, which are being shipped to them. The Toyota dealers are also cooperating with the company, and are trying to help them by working for extended hours. Some devoted Toyota dealers are going to remain open up to 24 hours, so that they can complete the recall as fast and easily as possible.

“We know what’s causing the sticking accelerator pedals, and we know what we have to do to fix it,” Jim Lentz, Toyota’s president and chief operating officer, said in a statement.
