Tokyo stocks follow Wall Street rally
March 11th, 2009 - 2:26 pm ICT by IANSTokyo, March 11 (DPA) Tokyo stocks gained Wednesday morning in the wake of the strong overnight gains on Wall Street.
Japan’s benchmark Nikkei 225 Stock Average soared 283.18 points, or 4.01 percent, to 7,338.16. The broader Topix index of all first- section issues was rose 22.08 points, or 3.14 percent, to 725.58.
In currency markets, the dollar was stronger against the yen and euro.
