Feb 26, (THAINDIAN NEWS) General Motors are done with Hummers. No matter how astonishing the news might sound to be, Hummers are destined to be rolled off and forever. Sale statistics of Hummers speaks of its peak scores touching 71,524 in 2006. Comparatively 9,046 Hummers were also being sold this year itself. So where’s the hitch? Well, General Motors declared that it was planning to scrap off the brand after the deal to sell it off went astray.
It’s quite evident over years, Hummers have been the biggest and meanest machines hitting the brass tracks. The story behind the windscreen is that General Motors has been after Tengzhong (a Chinese company) to fix a deal in selling out the brand Hummer. But contrary to their intentions they have declared to pull out of the Hummer deal. However, General Motors confirmed that it’s still keeping an eye out for possible buyers for the brand but what’s predictable is that Hummer is destined for a nearing end. So, if Hummer loyalists are still pondering if their vehicle is the “moral consumption choice,” it’s time for them to think again.
Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industry Machinery Co Ltd had once announced that it would be buying Hummer in October 2009, thus taking over all other current dealer agreements. However, it shifted the entire blame upon the Chinese regulators not granting them the permission. General Motors shall be working all in close patches with Hummer employees and dealers thus wrapping off the business in a professional and responsible fashion. The vice president John Smith declared that quite regrettably about 3000 jobs are in the line of being affected.
