Dec 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It has come up as a sad news for all the lottery dealing outlets in Texas as a recent survey conducted showed that the state’s lottery sell have taken a fall by one third. According to reports obtained from the Texas Lottery Commission who apparently conducted the survey, this is the lowest level that has ever shown up. The study showed the people of this US state have taken a back step from this arena and the reason to be blamed for this is the poor economy of the state.
The state’s economic conditions have taken a worse turn and it has been found that people of the state are literally battling with the poor financial condition of the region. The study shows that fall in the lottery playing in the state has resulted from a straight 41.7 percent to 33.8 percent. The statistics is a clear hint of the drastic fall that and is certainly posing a threat to the lottery dealers whose business are right now no where near to prosperity. Instead reports claim that the condition is very poor with this kind of business form. However, this is not the first time that Texas has shown a fall in lottery plays. With the second time the level of the fall is also larger. It has come to be the second largest fall of one after another year. The last time Texas faced this kind of financial crisis was years back in 1993.
Reports show that in between 2003 and 2004, the rate of participation has fallen by a gap of 9 percent. J. Winston Krause, Lottery Commissioner of Texas on being asked about the issue said that the decline in the participation rate was all due to the bad phase of economy that Texas is going through.
