Ted Turner aces the ‘Forbes List of the World’s Largest Landowners’

ted1 New York, July 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Forbes has compiled the list of the world’s largest landowners.

The top five names in the list all own lands in the region of millions of acres in America. And according to Forbes, the landowners are serious land grabbers.

Ted Turner, who owns about 2 million acres of land in the United States and Mexico, leads the list. He owns land in Montana, Colorado, Florida and he owns the Vermejo Park Ranch, which is on the United States border with Mexico.

The man who was previously thought to be the biggest landowner in the United States is actually the second biggest landowner. Archie Emmerson has a total of 1.9 million acres of land in two states in the United States. Emmerson has lands in California and Washington. It was previously thought that Emmerson owns 2 million acres of land but it was realized after the Forbes list that he owned 1.9 million acres.

The full list has Brad Kelley of Texas at the third position with 1.7 million acres of land in New Mexico, Texas and Florida. The Irvin family owns the fourth biggest land by an individual in the United States, owning 1.25 million acres of land and the Singleton family completes the top five list with 1.1 million acres of land.
