Tata Refractories target Rs.2000 crore turnover by 2012-13
July 15th, 2010 - 8:43 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, July 15 (IANS) Tata Refractories is targeting a turnover of Rs.2,000 crore by 2012-13 from Rs.950 crore
at present, expecting that exports of the company would double the turnover in three years, a top company official said here Thursday.
“At present export constitute 14 percent of the turnover, which is likely to grow to 25 percent during that period,” A.K. Chattopadhyay, managing director of the company told reporters at the sidelines of a seminar organised by CII.
Tata Refractories is a subsidiary of Tata Steel.
Export turnover was Rs.136 crore in 2009-10. It has set a target of Rs.500 crore export revenue by 2012-13. In the current fiscal (2010-11) he expects to clock a turnover of Rs.240 crore from export.
He said chunk of export revenue of the company in 2010-11 would come from Corus.
“Our export to Corus was Rs.5 crore last year, which will go up to Rs.70 crore this. This will be largely due to fact that the European refractory makers cannot compete with us on price. We have a competitive age on this,” he said.
