Tata Power appoints Cyrus Mistry as additional director
December 26th, 2011 - 8:42 pm ICT by IANSMumbai, Dec 26 (IANS) Cyrus P. Mistry, who is scheduled to take over the reins of thye $71 billion Tata Group from December 2012, has been appointed an additional director of Tata Power, the company said Monday.
“Cyrus P. Mistry has been appointed as an additional director of the company effective Dec 23, 2011,” the company said in a regulatory filing.
The 43-year-old Mistry scion was appointed deputy chairman of the board of directors of Tata Sons, the holding company of the Tata Group, last month. He will work in this position for a year till Ratan Tata lays down the chairman’s office in December 2012.
At the Bombay Stock Exchange the shares of Tata Power closed 0.63 percent up at Rs.88.55.
