New Delhi, Aug 10 (IANS) Tata DOCOMO Tuesday launched a new “pay per site” tariff plan which will allow subscribers to pay only for the websites they surf.
The Pay per site scheme offers two packs — those only interested in a single website need to pay Rs.10 per site which will be valid for 30 days. And those with multiple site browsing needs can opt for a combo pack at Rs.25 per month, Tata Docomo’s Head of Marketing Gurinder Singh Sandhu said.
Customers will have a bundle of options within various categories of social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Linked-In and Orkut — mail options, including websites like Gmail, Yahoo and Rediff and chat messengers like GTalk, Yahoo Messenger and Nimbuzz.
After the completion of one month, the customers will be charged 1 paise per KB.
The services can be activated either by calling or sending a message to 141. Subscribers can also click on the pay-per-site link on the Tata DOCOMO website to activate the service.
“Pay per site is a potent market disruptor that aims to enable an innovative service in the data market, offering customers the power to decide on what they surf the most and purchase ‘packs’ suited and tailored to specific needs,” said Rishi Malhotra, head of value added services, Tata DOCOMO.
In June last year, the company had launched the “pay per second” scheme which made other service providers make drastic changes in their customer service plans.
