Mumbai, March 3 (IANS) Non-life insurer TATA-AIG General Insurance Ltd has signed a deal in which it will offer travel insurance to low-cost carrier GoAir’s passengers that includes compensating them for flight delays. The cover will be available on all online bookings made at GoAir’s website.
Domestic passengers booking a GoAir ticket will be offered the option of buying the insurance cover at a premium of Rs.129.
The insurance ensures compensation of up to Rs.10,500 for flight delays beyond a specified time.
Besides this, passenger buying the cover will get benefits that include baggage loss reimbursement, trip cancellation due to sickness and emergency accidental medical benefit.
Commenting on the deal, managing director of GoAir, Jeh Wadia, said: “Our partnership with Tata-AIG General Insurance Ltd is part of a strategy to provide added value to our passengers.”
