Tamil Nadu assembly adjourned sine die
February 10th, 2011 - 8:22 pm ICT by IANSChennai, Feb 10 (IANS) The Tamil Nadu assembly was adjourned sine die Thursday after Finance Minister K.Anbazhagan presented supplementary demand for grants for Rs.11,772 crore for the 2010-11 fiscal.Anbazhagan said a sum of Rs.9,144 crore is required on the revenue account and Rs.2,628 crore is needed for capital and loan accounts.
He said the government has converted into equity the dues of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) towards electricity tax and penal interest thereon to the tune of Rs.1,235.13 crore.
The government has demanded sanction for an additional sum of Rs.258.22 crore towards its free colour television scheme and Rs.214.52 crore for the Kalaignar Housing Scheme.
A sum of Rs.623.49 crore is needed as ways and means advance to state transport undertakings towards diesel subsidy, wage settlement and others.
