Sep 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) T-Mobile has been dragged to court by the EZ Texting for reportedly blocking the company’s text messages to users. EZ Texting that has filed the lawsuit in New York City’s District Court has claimed in its suit that the T-Mobile has illegally blocked its text messages which forms the core of its business. T-Mobile reportedly started blocking EZ Texting’s marketing texts since Sep 10 after it found that one of the customer of EZ Texting, a website, provides name and location of places where legal medical marijuana were available in California.
EZ Texting maintained that the T-Mobile has been blocking all its text messages and not just any one particular customer’s text that was at fault. It emphasized that although it had ended its ties with the customer that used to provide information about the availability of marijuana in the California market, T-Mobile continued to block all its messages, thereby affecting its business. It claimed that T-Mobile has put it out of business due to its strict policies. EZ Texting now wants T-Mobile to restore its service so that the former can continue with its business.
However, the present case has also brought to the surface the rights and rules that should govern a wireless carrier. Some organizations have asked the help of Federal Communication Commission to solve the matter. The organizations have held that the decision of T-Mobile to shun its carrier services to EZ Texting once again points to the “arbitrary decision” by a carrier provider to block text message calls between consumers and organizations. Medical marijuana is legal in United States.
