Mumbai, Oct 4 (IANS) Switzerland-based Glion Institute of Higher Education Tuesday announced its new online partnership with the Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces.

In June, Glion formed its first corporate partnership with Taj and welcomed 25 managers to the online MBA programme annually.

“New trends in the hospitality industry such as changes in customer preferences, demographics and a need to redefine luxury reflect the need to develop evolving professional managers,” said Rustom Vesavevala, vice president of development and learning with Taj.

“Given this scenario and our growth plans, successful HR (human resource) development is a key strategy for the Taj. The Taj/Glion partnership is yet another step in this direction,” he added.

Glion’s online MBA, post graduate and professional development programmes are dedicated to developing executive talent for the hospitality and wider services industry.

The online student body is comprised of over 150 students with 48 countries represented and students bring between five to 15 years industry-related work experience into the learning forum.

“We’re particularly excited to embark on this partnership with Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces,” said Glion Online Programme Director Kate Buchanan M.A.

“The Indian hospitality and tourism industry is proving to be a really vibrant growth market, with its increasing wealth and sophistication. There is a real need to support the development and retention of executive talent within this sector,” she added.
