January 13th, 2012 - 3:33 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Stockholm, Jan 13 (IANS) Inflation eased in Sweden to 2.3 percent in December 2011 from 2.8 percent in the previous month, the Swedish Central Statistics Bureau (SCB) said Thursday.
In a statement published on its website, the SCB said the figure matched previous expectations.
On a monthly basis, the Consumer Price Index (CPI), a key gauge for inflation, increased by 0.2 percent in the November-December period, reported Xinhua.
Higher costs for housing, food, non-alcoholic beverages as well as transportation services pushed up consumer prices, but were partly offset by lower prices on electricity, clothing and footwear.
