Surya to set up two more pipe units
September 4th, 2009 - 9:31 pm ICT by IANSShimla, Sep 4 (IANS) Surya Roshni, the largest exporter of GI pipes and flagship company of Surya Lights, Friday announced it is setting up two more units with an outlay of Rs.550 crore.
“We are setting up two pipe manufacturing units, one each in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, with an outlay of Rs.550 crore,” J.P. Agarwal, chairman and managing director of Surya Roshni, told IANS here.
He was here to launch a consumer awareness campaign, which would cover 250 cities, to educate consumers about the benefits of GI pipes and hazards of using spurious pipes.
Agarwal said the company would invest Rs.400 crore for the Gujarat unit and Rs.150 core for the Madhya Pradesh factory.
The company is exporting 200,000 tonnes pipes to 40 countries and supplying pipes for domestic consumption across the country.
