Stop exam paper leaks, house panel tells railways
August 30th, 2011 - 7:07 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Aug 30 (IANS) The parliamentary standing committee on railways has expressed its serious concern at the frequent “allegations of irregularities and malpractices” against the Railway Recruitment Boards and strongly recommended that the ministry take “effective steps to check the recurrence of such incidents”.
The panel has also asked the ministry to apprise it of the progress in the four cases of question paper leakage in the railway recruitment exams, being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
The CBI had unearthed a scam in railway recruitment and arrested 10 people allegedly involved in the racket, the panel noted.
According to the panel, in the first case, the question paper of RRB for the post of assistant loco pilot scheduled April 27, 2008 conducted by RRB Bhopal was leaked.
In the second case, question paper for the post of assistant loco pilot conducted by RRB Allahabad on Dec 14, 2008 was leaked.
The third case involves question paper leakage for the exam scheduled on Feb 15, 2009 for the post of assistant station master conducted by RRB Ajmer. The exam was subsequently cancelled.
The fourth case involves leakage of question paper of RRB held on June 6, 2010 and June 13, 2010 for the post of assistant loco pilot and assistant station master.
