Sterlite Industries quarterly net profit up 35 percent
April 25th, 2011 - 6:31 pm ICT by IANSMumbai, April 25 (IANS) Sterlite Industries Monday posted a 35 percent increase in the net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2011, which stood at Rs.19.25 billion against Rs.14.25 billion during the like period of the last fiscal.
The total income of the metals and mining company stood at Rs.107.82 billion, 38.55 percent higher than Rs.77.82 billion in the corresponding quarter of last fiscal, Sterlite said in a regulatory filing.
The company has also proposed a dividend of Rs.1.10 per share on face value of Re.1 each.
At the Bombay Stock Exchange, the shares of the company closed up 4.40 percent at Rs.186.40.
