New Delhi, June 23 (IANS) Leading staffing companies including Adecco, Allegis, GI Group and Ma Foi Randstad have come together to form the Indian Staffing Federation (ISF) to professionalise the Indian employment landscape.

The key objectives of the federation would be to provide sustainable growth and establish quality standards for the staffing industry and also to develop itself as a preferred choice of employment.

The founder members of the association also include companies such as Global Innov, Kelly, Manpower and Teamlease, which together represent close to 50 percent of the Indian organised staffing market.

These companies collectively employ over 3.2 million people on their payrolls and every year provide employment opportunities to about 10 million people.

“The federation will be the authoritative voice of the staffing industry. It will actively seek like-minded members to build an informed collective by promoting capacity building, data-gathering and research to support the reforms much needed in the industry,” said K. Pandia Rajan president, ISF.

The agencies are expected to take on the challenge of creating employability for fast growing industries like ICT, healthcare, hospitality, real estate, retail, media and entertainment, banking and manufacturing.

According to industry predictions, 1.6 million new jobs will be created in 2011. Indian companies are increasingly finding it difficult to find the right talent, with 67 percent of employers struggling to meet their critical-level hiring targets.
