Spirit Airlines All Set Launch Plattsburgh Flights Next Year

Spirit AirlinesNov 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) United States’ low cost carrier flights, Spirit Airlines has expanded its operation in five new markets including Buffalo and Plattsburgh. The airlines officials said that Spirit Airlines will offer four weekly non-stop planes from Plattsburgh which will start from January 14, 2011. Spirit Airlines have also announced that the Canadian travelers will have access to low fares throughout the U.S. cities.

Michael La Pier, the director of Myrtle Beach International Airport said that the whole news is “extremely exciting” as the Spirit Airlines have continued to invest in Myrtle Beach and also its additional non-stop destinations and it will give benefit to the residents and increase their tourism as well. Michele Powers, the vice president of marketing for the Plattsburgh North Country Chamber of Commerce said that by providing airlines in Plattsburgh, the company is offering more choices for “Quebecers”.

Michele Powers also said that the airport is now attracting American airlines as they got permission for expansion from the government. The vice president said that the expansion will allow to fly ‘legacy airlines’ to Europe. Garry Douglas, president of the Plattsburgh-North County Chamber of Commerce, in his statement said that this Spirit Airlines’ launching flights in the Plattsburgh airport is a powerful recognition of their status as Montreal’s U. S. airport and the ability to accommodate options like late night flights etc. Plattsburgh International Airport, accommodates about 90,000 passengers a year and after Spirit Airlines launches airplanes, it will attract more passengers. The company officials are also geared up to launch their business in Plattsburgh airport to expand their horizon. The launch will allow them to fly legacy airlines to Europe.
